The first founder, Chairman Sung Seje, founded the company in 1974 with the know-how he acquired while working on machine repairs in the Cheonggyecheon industrial belt after the Korean War in 1965. At that time, there was no machinery manufacturing base in Korea, and products from Japan, Germany, and the United States were imported and used, and defense machinery was used as industrial machinery. By analyzing how foreign products works and pros and cons of them, Korea's first two-stage high-pressure piston compressor (15kg/cm2) was developed and began manufactured and was sold. Afterwards, as the industry developed, a 200kg/cm2 class ultra-high pressure compressor was developed in the late 1980s and began to be supplied to various industrial fields, starting with the supply to the Republic of Korea Special Forces and the national defense sector. In the late 1990s, MyoungSooLee Production (MSL Compressor's predecessor) developed Korea's first 300kg/cm2 piston compressor, supporting the development of domestic industry with gas compression fundamental technology.
In 2011, MSL compressor completed the development and commercialization of a 700kg/cm2 multi-stage compression piston compressor, becoming the first in Korea and the second in the world, and delivered it to POSCO Group in Korea, creating a new era in the field of ultra-high pressure compression. We also offer a number of products in the natural gas compression field, where cleanliness is important.
